Labour and Social Security Institute (LSSI) is
an autonomous institute which is affiliated to Labour and
Social Affairs Ministry of Iran. The first “National Labour
Conference” (1969), in which the tripartite groups are
present, in its final resolution emphasized to establishment
of LSSI according to the role and importance of quality
promotion of labour force in increasing of efficiency,
productivity, and also decreasing labour and employer
disputes
In Single Article of establishment law of LSSI
(ratified in 1970) the objectives of LSSI are mentioned as:
“Training and increasing the skill and knowledge
of labours and employers and also employees of Labour and
Social Affairs Ministry and affiliated organizations in
issues which are related to industrial relation, laws and
regulations of labour and social security, syndicate
problems, industrial protection, and other labour and
employer problems along with providing the necessary
facilities for research in mentioned fields as well as
creating training relations and exchanging experts and
trainees with other countries of the world and cooperation
with related international organization“.
